Ok I am seeking a challenging old classics, possibly, MGB GT, and I see in advertisements that they have "overdrive". Some may worship the soul to explain what "overdrive" is a classic car, what he does, he is winning? I expect a Google search would have put in place, but it tends to have someone explain please, thank you in advance.
I actually ran for 4 years to 1984 Ford Transit step 4 Gas manual with overdrive and in my distant past Sun I drove a custom MGB GT with overdrive. The overdrive unit is mounted between the rear of the gearbox and the front of the prop-tunnel and is operated by an electric switch or as a stalk on the steering column or a whip on the Flick top of the gear lever knob, the overdrive is operated using a grab cone so it can be on or off without using the clutch, some overdrives only company on the other gear for work as transit on 3rd and 4th gears. In actual terms naked on his 3rd actual speed of a 3rd and a half on mechanism creates a 4th gear overdrive 5th gear but 4th gear is a device the more you get with a 5 speed. Is it desirable, if you resolve to conduct long distance then yes, because it give the car legs much longer the locomotive can run a more low for a given speed.

overdrive is all is a beat that will deliver your car at a lower RPM Most new cars have the ability to deny b decrease or disable.

Assuming that is the same as what was called Overdrive in the days to decades old relationship is a transmission that has a final cog-wheel rotates faster than the engine (more than overdrive).
Take my truck .... 96 Dodge 4-automatic support. The four gear ratios are 2.35:1, 1.35:1, 1:1, and a 0.69:1 overdrive attire .... So, if the engine turns a constant 2000 RPM, the result is spinning at: 1st dependencies: 851 rpm 2nd speed: 1481 rpm 3rd speed: 2000 rpm 4th range: 2898 rpm.
Overdrive simply means that the process causes the termination of output (shaft on most cars) to run faster than the engine - a couple less overall because the device can run slower, but better global food economy.

I want to get a classic Beetle. I am a guy of great size (width and height) and need to know if you find it funny to see a big guy driving a bug. This is more of a manly car because it has a device Subaru STI.
I'll ask you "that way". My present husband is 6 feet 5 inches and there was nothing "gay" or diverting looking around him. All it means is that you're a big guy who happens to have the soup in the car. VW cars are great, so they are always there. Sometimes I have 8 Volkswagen, and probably will own "more" Before it's said and done. Fair chance, and welcome to the world of Volkswagen.
