So I wanna get my iPod fixed by Apple for free (iPod Touch cracked screen) Should I lie?

This is my stand-in iPod Touch and these things are very fragile and both screens cracked and very important to be victorious but I do not know if it is worth lying (sick little sense at all) as perhaps I should say that it was really hot and the screen cracked because of it but I remember some people actually got them fixed for free. I have no warrenty and it wouldnt be covered anyway. But please this is very annoying. What should be my excuse be?

Ipod Touch Screen Cracked! Please Help!!?

I have good recently dropped and cracked my iPod Touch, there is a crack in the top of my iPod to all along through my touch screen to the bottom .. but strangely my iPod Touch always responds bonzer, im guessing I need an external display and the new touchscreen LCD underneath is nice .. I wondered what I could do to solve this problem as cheaply as possible? Ive seen the site where I could allocate it to save up to € 58, but I have a friend thats an electrician and he said if I bought the screen seperatly exotic as the far post, he could do for me .. and could be much cheaper.. one be sure where I could buy this external display and how it may be? Id appreciate as many answers as possible and requisition, thank you.

Most sites that repairs will also tell you about the parties to do yourself.
